Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's children - was born at Woodland Hills in 1956. Her parents were her mother, who was an housewife, and her father who worked as a teacher. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started singing and performing from a young age. The fairytale story of her rise to fame started when she won her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of 6. This led to being contacted by the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she'd like to be in show business. McCormick had her first significant job when she was cast in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels new baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It Up And It breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1200 kids to be the youngest of three twins in The Brady Bunch TV show The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. The show ran for five years. McCormick, in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the television show, she nearly lost her virginity with her twin brother Barry Williams. He was just 19. She was just 16. This would have occurred, she says. But, the time for our marriage was not right.
